Rifle Season

Hunting Season is just around the corner. Hunters from the Midwest will be getting prepared for Michigan’s Rifle Season. Opening Day of November 15th and ending on November 30th. For many families in the Midwest hunting is a way to fill the freezer for the year, providing food for their families. Hunting, although a sport, is much more than that for many people. Getting to spend time with friends and family that they may not see often or maybe only during hunting season.
The Upper Peninsula has become a big area for hunters due to our vast amount of woods and public land. All hunters are require to have a license and follow area guidelines on what whitetail deer they are able to take. Here in Iron County it would depend on the type of license you purchased. With a regular combo license a hunter can take a deer with 3 or more points on one side. If you have a restricted combo license it is 4 or more points on one side. There are other licenses available as well.
If you plan on hunting the rifle season we wish you a successful and safe season!
