Mount Arvon – A Must See
Part of the Huron Mountains, Mount Arvon is Michigan’s highest point. Rising 1,979 feet above sea level and fairly accessible by many vehicles, the summit of Mount Arvon is definitely worth checking out.

You drive through L’Anse, take a trip down Skanee Road, then turn onto what shortly becomes a gravel road. Eleven curvy miles later you reach the top of Mount Arvon.

Unofficially, the first sign of spring may not be the robin but rather the first hiker or biker on the Apple Blossom Trail, which runs from Iron River through Caspian. It’s time you were hiking in Iron County.

Escanaba based author/songwriter Bill Jamerson will present a music and storytelling program about the Civilian Conservation Corps at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 3, at the Iron County Museum.
Dressed in uniform, Jamerson will tell stories, read excerpts from his book, show a short video from his PBS film and perform original songs with his guitar. Jamerson has performed at CCC reunions around the country and at dozens of CCC built national and state parks.
