It’s all about cowboys and horses and Wild West action, fun for all ages when the 55th annual Upper Peninsula Championship Rodeo takes place at the Iron County Fairgrounds in Iron County Michigan: Friday and Saturday, July 7-8, 2023

of this year’s U.P. Championship Rodeo!
Three rodeo performances will put the cowboys to the test: 7 p.m. Friday and 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday.
In addition, many other events are taking place all over the area. The schedule promises two jam-packed days throughout the Iron River area.

Cost:
Regular tickets are Adults $20, Children $8 (6-12), Children under 5 are free. (Saturday 2pm children are free with paying adult). Tickets will only be available at the main gate. Admission tickets are good for one performance.
If you would like to purchase for a group or weekend, please call (906) 284-9680 or (906) 367-0028. Parking is available on the rodeo grounds: $5 a vehicle - parking pass is good for the whole weekend.
What you can expect:
Rodeo events include bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping, team roping, steer wrestling and women’s barrel racing and breakaway roping. And that’s not all. The rodeo also includes specialty acts, and the rodeo clowns will be tickling your funny bone all evening. Kids are invited to try their skills at “mutton bustin’” (riding a lamb) and join in a wild calf scramble (trying to snatch money from the calf’s tail) during all three rodeo performances.
Don't forget about the parade!
The Wild West Parade will begin at 10am on Saturday - so grab your chair, toss down a blanket and grab your spot early! It starts from the corner of Franklin and 4th avenue, continues on 4th until US2, where it will proceed east for three blocks to 1st avenue, then turning west onto Genesee St. It will continue west until 7th avenue where it will return to the fairgrounds.
