The Iron County Fair is celebrating its 124th year this summer. Opening day is set for Wednesday, Aug. 27. The closing day is Sunday, Aug. 31. A few events have been scheduled on different days this year, including the 4-H market livestock auction, which now takes place Saturday at 2 p.m. The draft horse pull is now Thursday at 6 p.m. The arts and crafts sales are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Fungus Fest! The Crystal Falls Business Association has announced the schedule for the 2014 Fungus Fest, to be held Aug. 8 and 9. Strongman Competition This Weekend! Who are the strongest dudes (and dudettes) in the U.P.? Find out this Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Nylund Food Center here, at the annual U.P. Strongman Contest.
