Looking forward to September 12 – Men Who Cook Event is a must do!

Kinship of Iron County will hold its sixth “Men Who Cook” fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the George Young Recreational Complex from 5:30-8:30 p.m., with food tastings available from 6-8 p.m.
“The saying, ‘it takes a village to raise a child,’ is generously embraced by the mentors who volunteer for Kinship of Iron County,” said Kinship’s Kay Anderson.
“They give their time, love and attention to children in grades 2-8 throughout Iron County who need them. Regular, long-term relationships with a variety of adults are critical to healthy child development. Dedicated volunteers are essential to Kinship’s operation. Kinship provides the structure and organization for these volunteer mentors to effectively serve our children.”
Kinship of Iron County is dependent on private donations and fundraising events to maintain its programs, said Anderson.
Iron County residents are asked to help support Kinship’s efforts by participating in the upcoming Men Who Cook.
This evening of food and fun is the primary fundraiser for this nonprofit organization which provides such a vital service to the children of Iron County.
Men Who Cook provides an opportunity to taste the culinary masterpieces of many of Iron County’s finest chefs. Nine teams of two chefs each will provide diners with tastings from their personal collection of delicious recipes.
Diners cast votes with dollars to crown the year’s top chefs. One hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket sales and voting benefit Kinship of Iron County directly.
Bios of participating teams are available at Kinship’s website,www.ironcountymenwhocook.com.
Tickets are available for $35 each, limited to the first 150 sales. Tickets can be ordered at the website, www.ironcountymenwhocook.com, or by sending a check, payable to Kinship of Iron County, with name and address, to Kay Anderson, 135 N Trybom Drive, Iron River, MI 49935.
Name tags for all registered guests will be waiting at the registration desk on the night of the event.
Anyone with questions is asked to email: ironcountymenwhocook@gmail.com or call 906-265-0013 or 503-380-6327.
“If you are unable to attend, we respectfully request that you consider a donation to Kinship,” said Anderson.
