Snow Snow Snow!! Iron County Winterwonder Land Continues!

Well as we move towards the end of February and into the beginning of March it sure seems like the weather man’s friend good ole’ Punxsatawney Phil was right on the 6 more weeks of winter! By the look of the weather forecast, winter looks to be staying around for awhile; not the best news for all the summer lovers out there, but if your one that is looking to get some time for winter activities than you are in luck!

Local snowmobile trails are in great shape, with many saying the best they have seen in many years! Here is Iron County’s Snowmobile Report for 2/20/14:

Date of Report: 2/20/2014 Trail Conditions: AWESOME Snow Cover:  24 – 30 inches of snow cover Area Report: Our trails are “OPEN” and groomed.  Northern & Western trails are in “Excellent” condition… Southern & Eastern trails are in “Very Good to Excellent” condition.  Groomers & operators are grooming daily… so Let it snow .. Let it snow.. Let it snow!!  We received 6 inches of snow on Thursday and a couple more inches yesterday …. so Let it snow.. Let it snow.. Let it snow!! Trail #2.. Trail #15 N. .. Trail #107.. Trail #18.. Trail #16.. Trail #116.. Trail #113 are all in “Excellent” condition. Trail #111 & Trail #15 S. are in “Very Good to Excellent” condition as well. Forecast is calling for temps in the mid to upper teens all weekend. ..  snow is in the forecast again tomorrow.  We have an awesome base on the trails.  Heading “North” this winter – Head to (IRON COUNTY MICHIGAN) – Come on up and give us a try… you’ll be glad you did!!!

News & Events: AWESOME ICE FISHING in Iron County Michigan – Lakes have a good (30 to 36 inches) or better of ice on all lakes.   For more information contact the Iron County Chamber Office and ask for (Bob or Beth) – (1-888-879-4766). Fish are biting – blue gill.. crappie.. walleye and lake trout too!!!
