Free ORV Weekend

Free ORV Weekend gives riders the opportunity to explore Michigan’s designated off-road vehicle routes without an ORV license or trail permit. Iron County visitors can take advantage of nearby ORV trails and forest routes while enjoying a summer weekend in the Northwoods. All standard ORV rules and safety regulations still apply.

Nick Baumgartner Dreamchaser Celebration at Ski Brule

Join the community for a special evening celebrating Iron River native and Olympic gold medalist Nick Baumgartner as he prepares for the 2026 Winter Olympics. This event features a casual meet and greet, photo opportunities, autographs, and a book signing of Nick’s autobiography, Gold from Iron. Friends, families, and supporters are invited to gather, show encouragement, and recognize Nick’s achievements and connection to Iron County. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by an adult.

WinterFest returns to Iron County on Saturday, February 21, 2026, bringing a full day of classic Upper Peninsula winter experiences to Crystal Falls. Candlelight Snowshoe at Taproot Community Farm

Enjoy a winter evening outdoors at this family-friendly candlelight snowshoe event hosted by the Iron County Trail Club. Snowshoe at your own pace and arrive any time between 3:00 and 8:00 pm, with luminaria lighting the trails after dark. Snowshoes are available to borrow at no cost, and warm up by the fire with hot cocoa and soup. Free to attend, with donations appreciated.  

Easter Egg Hunt at Runkle Lake Park

An Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Runkle Lake Park on March 28, 2026. Families and community members are invited to enjoy a seasonal outdoor activity celebrating spring in the Crystal Lake area. Additional event details will be shared as they become available.
