Humongous Fungus Festival

Fungus Fest!

The Theme this year is MORALE

Join us for the 33rd Annual Humongous Fungus Festival, which takes place this weekend, August 23-24th, in and around the Crystal Falls area, with a wide variety of special events!

The festival has changed over the years, but this year there are a few new events as well as some past favorites.

Check out the Fungus Fest Events:

  • Soap Box Derby by Superior Sport & Feed

  • The “Pizza” - making a comeback this year! (after years of not having the pizza, it’s back thanks to volunteers who stepped forward to handle that task!)

  • Mushroom Cook-off hosted by the Harbour House Museum - many mushroom dishes will be vying for a chance to win 1st place!

  • Humongous Fungus Parade @ 10am - watch the parade on Superior Ave

  • Best Fungus Float contest by the Crystal Falls Business Association

  • Best Dressed Mushroom Single Entry

  • Best Dressed Group of Mushrooms

  • Fungus Bus trips. These 4-hour trips are available AM & PM, and cost $60pp. Sean Ackles will be your Mushroom Educator. (highly recommended, so fun and educational!)

  • Rummage Sales - many to choose from

  • Vendor Village - located in the City Parking lot

  • Ice Cream truck - located in the City Parking lot

  • 7pm "70's" Live Music Concert - Crystal Theatre

  • Archory for Kids - the Iron County Archers will be set up in the basement of Charlie’s Emporium where the range is located. Kids pay $5 to shoot six arrows. Or just get a quick lesson in archery.

  • Chalk Buckets - An annual favorite! Chalk buckets will be placed along the hill for chalk art so let's see that inner artist! All ages are welcome.
