As we roll into day 4 of the 2013 Michigan Firearm Deer Season here in Iron County, from some reports it looks like hunters are seeing some success despite the mild temperatures we saw this weekend. But for those of you who still haven’t seen a buck there still plenty of time! With firearm deer season going til November 30th hunters have many more opportunities to bag that trophy buck.

2013 Michigan Firearm Whitetail Deer Season
With opening day just a day away, hunters will begin to leave for the north woods. Thousands of hunters will take to the woods this weekend to hopefully take down that trophy buck. With the season open thru November 30th, hunters will have a two week period of time to seek that elusive buck and fill up their freezers. Statewide, hunting success and hunter satisfaction increased, the 2013 Michigan Deer Hunting Prospects report said,

Iron County Whitetail Deer Hunting Firearm Season Opens 11/15/13
Archery hunters have been in the woods, the creek bottoms, and the brushy belts that wrap around agricultural ground since the beginning of October and will take a break as the firearm season brings out the hunters in significant numbers. Beginning with opening day and extending over the course of the two-week firearm season, more than half a million hunters are expected to take part.

Michigan Hunting & Michigan Fishing doesn’t get any better!

Getting that itch to enjoy a day on the slopes with family and friends? Well Iron County’s favorite family ski resort Ski Brule has rev’d up snowmaking operations! As I began to drive down the road towards the mountain this morning, the temps began to drop to the mid to upper 20’s, making it perfect for snowmaking. Sure enough after cresting the hill the trees along the mountain were covered in a beautiful white snow!

The 2013/2014 ski season has started here in Iron County! Ski Brule recently began its snowmaking operations on October 23, 2013!
